New phone…

Howdy,

Last week i felt down after running down a large pile of sand ….;)….i felt on my phone (my Sony P990i). The speaker was damaged and it did not help that i was getting pretty tired of rebooting it ;) .

Today i decided to get a new phone. After some speculation last saturday and sunday i decided on HTC P3600, but after some more reading i found out that it will be getting a upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 so i decided to skip it. After a quick visit to Hátækni i decided to go for the HTC P3450 instead. Although it only has a 200Mhz cpu it feels kinda snappy and so far it has been alot more stable then my P990i ;) ….hopefully that stability will stay for good ;) .

I just got off from work, gonna spend my evening in front of my television, maybe play some Forza Motorsport 2 :D .

Back to the basics – Music

Howdy…

Was working all night, and just woke up.

I decided to check up on some music groups that i’ve listened to along my short live :) . After a quick Google i decided to check out YouTube. Amazingly i found alot of music videos/live concert recording of the groups that i’ve listened to. Offspring, Green Day, No Doubt, Blink 182, Wu-Tang (yeah! …..i listened to alot of RAP with all that punk!:)). Sadly, Blink 182 has retired, Offspring is still going strong, Green Day is too! After some wikipedia searches i decided i’d try to find some “new” punk/pop punk groups. Dang! …i found groups like NOFX, +44, Angels & Airwaves. I bet i’ll be finding more groups to listen to while i do my devious work around the clock:)

Well….life has been rought for the last weeks, shitload of work/research, and little sleep. Like a friend of mine told me yesterday, “You can sleep when you’re dead!”. Some new VERY cool projects coming around, involing 3-4 node RHEL5 Clusters, large SAN switches, shitload of diskspace, load balancers and more cool stuff :) …..

Well….I’m tired, just wanted to let you peeps know that i’m still alive and kicking…….Maybe i will have some time to go out and race my Revo tomorrow if nothing crashes :)

Piece out to y’all!

Back to Vista …

Howdy!

Well…i was running Fedora 7 since last thursday but i gave up today. Everything shipped with Fedora worked perfectly except MySQL Administrator crashed when i needed it the most & of course the normal issues with Evolution Exchange connector keep annoying the hell out of me.

The biggest issue was the frigging ATI driver. Fedora ships with a new X server which is supposed to support cool things like hotplugging displays etc. The driver did not work correctly for me atleast. The configuration tools crashed and dual display was not happening…….that was working fine in Fedora Core 6.

After i spent around 8 hours working on a single display i decided to try the new installation server for Windows since i was still at work. In about 1 hour i had a working Vista installation.

The last time i installed Vista on my work laptop i had allot of stuff annoying me also…..after speaking with the Windows brains at work it came clear to me that most of the issues i had before where directly connected to the IBM tools that i installed. This time i am going to skip those and just use the drivers & tools supplied by Microsoft. There is supposed to be a new ATI driver released in 30-40 days or so for linux so i’ll take a ghost image of my computer and try that one out with Fedora 7.

Well….just felt the urge to write all this crap down ….I hate having to reinstall my computer every week but when things like getting dual display working & email & suspend-to-disk/suspend-to-ram are taking away precious time that i could use to do fun stuff or just work i just feel that there is something wrong.

Later!
